About SABA GB
The local chapter of the South Asian Bar Association of North America, serving Greater Boston since 2009.
Our mission
SABA GB is a local chapter of the South Asian Bar Association of North America (SABA NA), the umbrella organization for local SABA groups throughout the United States and Canada.
- WE SERVE as the regional voice for the concerns and opinions of South Asians in the community generally, and in the legal profession in particular.
- WE PROVIDE a forum for professional networking and development, legal scholarship and education, and advocacy and community involvement.
- WE PROMOTE the advancement of attorneys and law students of South Asian heritage.
- WE SUPPORT the provision of legal services to the South Asian community.
- WE WORK with other bar associations, governmental agencies, and community groups to deepen the South Asian community’s involvement in and understanding of the American legal system.
Committees
Our work happens through six standing committees. Members are welcome to join any committee — reach out to the Executive Committee to get involved.
Membership
Recruits new members, runs onboarding, and stewards the membership directory.
Mentorship
Pairs law students and junior attorneys with experienced mentors year-round.
Public Relations
Runs the biweekly newsletter, social channels, and chapter communications.
Women's Initiative
Programs and events focused on the women of SABA GB and the wider South Asian legal community.
Partnership and Engagement
Coordinates with peer bar associations, sponsors, and community organizations.
Community Development
Anchors Know Your Rights! and other community-facing legal education programs.
